Tapestry Installation - St. Thomas More, Oceanside CA

This 20 x 9.5 foot tapestry for the soon to be opened St. Thomas More Catholic church in Oceanside, CA was installed on December 4, 2015. The tapestry depicts images of Thomas More derived from drawings of the saint and his family by Hans Holbein the Younger. The tapestry also references More's best known literary work Utopia and one of his most famous quotes "Earth has no sorrow that heaven cannot heal." The building was designed by Los Angeles architect, Renzo Zecchetto.

New Acquisitions at UCSB

Talking Back: New Acquisitions opens at the Art, Design & Architecture Museum at the University of California Santa Barbara on September 12. Lizzie with Knit Cap, a large-scale tapestry commissioned by the museum will be part of the exhibition. The opening reception for the show is on September 25.

Figurativas '15 at MEAM

Figurativas '15 is a semi-annual international competition for figurative painting and sculpture held by the Museu Europeu d'Art Modern in Barcelona, Spain. This year's jurors included Antonio Lopez Garcia, Odd Nerdrum, Richard Estes and Daniel Graves. I'm very happy that Anaydomene was selected for the exhibition.
